john frieda full repair range

John Frieda Full Repair Range* - Available at Boots

My hair is pretty damaged from years of straightening, dying it various colours & the recent addition of ombre to the ends. The full repair range contains Inca Inchi which is an oil containing Omega 3, it helps to restore overworked hair & adds volume, so I thought I'd give these a go & see what results I could achieve.

The Full Body Shampoo is a pretty pearlescent formula that smells so so lovely, when I use this combined with the Full Body Conditioner my hair is noticeably more manageable once washed. My hair has been quite difficult recently because of the bleached ends & often feels really dry whilst I'm shampooing it, but when I use this it feels smooth & nourished. After I've dried my hair I can tell my ends look a lot healthier & there is plenty of bounce to it. Usually my hair is a frizzy mess when I blow dry it but using these products has helped me to achieve a salon style finish. If I remember I spritz the heat activated Styling Spray through my hair to ensure it is protected from heat damage, this product has the same smell as the shampoo & conditioners, which I can't quite describe, but take my word for it, it's nice! The product I've not got much use of so far is the Deep Infusion Serum, only because I've been using the Miracle Oil I mentioned in my October Favourites. However, when I do use it I feel as though my ends appear less brittle, which is amazing as I do have problems with my ends breaking quite easily. Overall I really like these products, I'll definitely be repurchasing the shampoo & conditioners in the future as my hair has been in much better condition since using these & the smell doesn't disappear once the products are washed away!

Have you tried anything from the full repair range?

my week in photos #12

Costa this morning | Reindeer at Covent Garden! | Covent Garden Christmas tree! (: |
First GBK, so yummy! | Waiting for Dom to arrive | Christmas slippers from Primark |
Lola's cupcake | Regent St Christmas lights | Interview prep in bed with chocolate toast & tea

This week has honestly been crazy, I've been so so busy, overwhelmed with uni work & various other things! My photos seem to have a slight Christmassy theme, London is so festive I've loved visiting different areas this week & seeing all the decorations! Dom & two of our friends came to London this weekend & I also went to the Crystal Castles gig in Brixton last night, Alice Glass you are crazy!! Probably the best gig of my life though, even if I did have to be lifted out the crowd by security after the first song, clearly not my 15 year old self anymore who could handle insane crowds!

Sorry for the Instagram posts being so close to each other this week, time is not my friend at the moment & they're so quick to compile. I should get a spare few minutes this week to try & organise myself as I actually have loads to blog about! (:

revlon photoready foundation

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation (002 Vanilla) - £12.99

When I first used this foundation I really didn't like it, the way it sat on my skin looked a w f u l! I am so so glad I gave it a second chance though, it must have been my skin having a bad day because now I seriously love this stuff. The shade Vanilla is almost perfect for my skin tone, a very rare occurrence! I blend the lightweight formula using my Real Techniques buffing brush (core collection) to achieve a medium to full coverage, depending on how many pumps I've used. The foundation does have a little bit of shimmer as it is designed to reflect light to achieve flawless looking skin in any environment, personally I feel it helps give me a dewy finish which  I love. Although it is in the higher price range for a drugstore foundation I think it's worth it, I've never been as happy with a foundation, it's always such a joy to apply this!

Have you tried this foundation?

christmas gifts for him - under £5

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven

I had a few people saying they would like a male version of the gift guide I did for girls the other day, so I thought I'd give it a go. My blog is usually quite girly, with all the beauty posts I do, however I love finding gifts for my boyfriend & I think it's a great way to share some ideas! I'm sticking to the £5 limit, which doesn't seem a lot, but I've seen quite a few gift guides for the over £10 range so I thought I'd do it differently. Plus, I am on a tight budget this year, with being a student, so I wanted to set myself the challenge of finding nice gifts for as cheap as possible!

Fetch my Keys - My boyfriend is forever losing his car keys, so this would be a great little gadget for him!

iPhone Gameboy Case - I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday & all his gaming friends think it's the coolest thing ever...

Where's Wally Book - Relive childhood memories of searching for Wally! (:

Moustache Air Freshener - Quirkly little freshener for a friend that drives.

Drumstick Pencils - Perfect for any musicians you might know!

Dove Men Care Minis - Travel sized items like this always come in handy.

Christmas Socks - Everyone should have a pair of Christmas socks!

I hope this has helped some of you, let me know if you'll be purchasing any of these little gifts!

essie - bikini so teeny

Bikini so Teeny - £7.99

Essie nail polishes are highly raved about within the beauty blogging community, I first heard of them when literally everybody went mad for 'Mint Candy Apple'. Of course, I was drawn into the hype & when Essie released their diffusion line in Boots & Superdrug I soon snapped up my first, reluctantly paying the slightly scary price tag. I say it's scary, as the most I used to pay was £5, so almost £8 for a little glass jar of a pretty colour was a tiny bit off putting! However I have absolutely zero regrets spending the extra few pounds on Essie polish because I can't fault them. The consistency is smooth & creamy, it glides onto the nail so well, especially with the rounded brush, literally 3 strokes across the nail & voila! I can also get away with one coat & wear time is great, it rarely chips for me & can last around a week, even without a top coat!

Bikini so Teeny is a cornflower blue, with a slight shimmer to it. I cannot get the true colour to show up on photos properly at all. How annoying! Although you can see the shimmer quite clearly in the bottle it doesn't really transfer to your nails as much. I love wearing this colour with a glitter accent nail, Models Own Disco Mix is a perfect combo in my opinion! I'm wearing it in this outfit post. A better picture can be seen on my Instagram web profile, here! As Christmas is approaching I'm also going to try out some nail art with this colour, perhaps using this as a base colour with tiny white snowflakes on top!

Lastly, I stumbled across Fragrance Direct which often have various shades of Essie, for only £1.99! Only yesterday I was browsing & noticed Bikini so Teeny was available for this price, sadly it's disappeared but I'm going to keep checking back as they update their colour range quite regularly.

If I wasn't such a poor student I know my Essie addiction would have spiralled out of control by now, have you tried Essie polishes? Which is your favourite shade!?

christmas gifts for her - under £5

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine

I have been browsing online all day for little gifts to give to my housemates & stocking fillers for my Mum & Sisters. I can't spend too much this year as I am on a student budget so I thought I'd show you what I found for under £5! They'd be perfect to be used for secret santa gifts too!

Make Your Own Felt Owls: I'd probably get this for my 10 year old sister, she loves getting creative & my mum is quite crafty too, so they'd probably love making these together during the Christmas holidays.

Cath Kidston Mug: These mugs are so so pretty & would be great if you had a friend who was moving into a new home around Christmas.

Bicycle Air Freshner: I have a few friends that drive & I've never seen such a lovely car freshner before, the pastel, vintage bicycle is adorable!

Yankee Candle Tart/Sampler: You can't go wrong with a Yankee candle! The bigger ones are quite expensive though so I thought it would be nice to buy a selection of mini scents.

Topshop Socks: Socks are often considered as a rubbish gift to receive, but if I unwrapped these cute polar bear ones I'd be happy!

Cupcake Trinket Box: A sweet little pot to store tiny litte things in, like small pieces of Jewellery. This would look cute sitting on a dressing table!

LUSH Magic Wand Bubble Bar: With almost every kind of scent available in the form of a bath bomb/bubble bar, there is something for everyone! I chose this particular one because it smells of Snow Fairy, which is literally the best smell in the world!

Models Own Snow Flake Polish: Perfect glittery polish for the party season!

I might do a similar post but 'for him' if any of you would be interested!? Will you be purchasing anything from this post?

LUSH golden wonder bath bomb

Golden Wonder - £3.25

Lush products are perfect for pampering yourself with on a lazy Sunday afternoon, whether it's using one of their fresh face masks or dropping a fizzing bath bomb into a warm bath! I decided to have a browse in Lush a couple of weeks ago after hearing the Christmas range had launched in store as I wanted to experience the excitement everyone seemed to have for these products! Of course I was absolutely spoilt for choice & spent ages umming & ahhing over which item to purchase, in the end I chose Golden Wonder & a small bottle of the Snow Fairy Shower Gel, but I am already planning my next Lush purchase...

Golden Wonder is a parcel shaped bomb with a fresh citrus smell, of orange, cognac & lime oils, that leaves a fruity scent lingering around the room. An extra to this christmassy treat is the rattle of a surprise inside, we are all guilty of shaking our gifts to try & guess whats it might be, right!?

When I dropped it under running water it began dissolving & fizzing into golden bubbles, which soon turned into a purple & blue mix of colour.

Finally, the bath bomb had finished fizzing away & released lots of tiny golden stars & plenty of glittery shimmer.

My skin has been left lovely & smooth, with no glittery sparkles left behind in my bath or on my skin! I will definitely be stocking up on a few of these before the Christmas season is over, have you tried anything from the Christmas range?

my week in photos #10

Santa on my coca cola can! | Free AA nail polish | Cath Kidston treats |
Starbucks date with Dom | Christmas lights in Leeds | Cheering myself up in Costa |
I FOUND IT! | Sam's (@sarnpreet) beautiful flowers | Burning my fave yankee candle (:

This week has been full of ups & downs, I won't go into much detail but it's mainly because my Dad left the country on Friday & it was hard for me to accept. Resulting in me spending too much money having coffees & buying myself little treats, plus Dom has absolutely spoilt me!

sleek makeup blush - rose gold

I picked this blusher up in Superdrug a while ago & kind of forgot I had it until I rediscovered it the other day! Firstly, the colour is an absolutely gorgeous peachy coral shade, with plenty of gold shimmer, I personally don't think my images do it justice, even though I used natural lighting this afternoon... sigh. The blusher adds a nice highlight thanks to the gold flecks that gently sparkle when sweeped across your cheeks. It applies like an actual dream, it is velvety soft & well pigmented, I only need to swirl my brush in the pan once & add a little onto my cheeks. Originally I wasn't sure the colour would suit me as I am ridiculously pale, but it is actually a good tone for my skin & gives me a healthy glow! The matte black packaging feels pretty sturdy, especially considering the price & the mirror is a handy feature for on the go touch ups. Finally, I have heard this product is a dupe for Nars Orgasm & looking at the images online I can see a definite resemblance, if you own Orgasm let me know what you think!?

Have you tried any Sleek products?

wednesday wishlist #5

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine

Red Tartan Scarf: forever running into any h&m store I see to try & track down this damn scarf! no luck so far, & I'm really unwilling to pay postage for one little item...

Lord Pug Necklace: I love pugs, so how could I say no to this!?

Teddy Robe: So snuggly & cozy, perfect for the chilly nights that are already here!

Christmas Cookie Yankee Candle: My sister bought a little sampler of this last year, it's such a sweet vanilla scent, very similar to my all time favourite Vanilla cupcake, but as the holidays are approaching a Christmassy version makes sense!

Ren Skincare Kit for Normal Skin: Possibly already bought this as it was available on ASOS earlier with 25% off! I'm looking forward to trying out some decent skincare products.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star: I'm yet to try a Soap & Glory moisturiser, but I have so much love for their products & the packaging is extra cute too!

Models Own Wonderland Collection: I already own far too many glitter polishes, but a few more can't hurt right!?

Topshop Crescent Moon Highlighter: I've actually been meaning to pick this up for a while now, everyt ime I'm in store I swatch it but never seem to walk out with it! I know this shade would be a nice match for my ghostly pale skin too (:

ASOS Cable Knit Mittens: These even have fleecy lining, my hands would be so snug! I wish these were available in cream, burgundy or navy though as the red & cobalt blue options wouldn't match with much in my wardrobe.

october favourites

John Frieda Full Repair Styling Spray - I'm planning on doing a review on the Full Repair range as I got sent a few items to try out, this product smells so good & protects my hair from heat damage.

Johnson's Dreamy Skin Night Facial Cleansing Wipes - I've used these for absolutely years, but because this is my first 'monthly favourites' post I thought I'd include them. I know people say makeup wipes are bad, blah blah blah, but these smell delicious, are soft on my skin & do a pretty good job at removing everything.

MUA Pro Brow Kit - I did a full review on this here, I've used it everyday for the past couple of weeks, it's a great kit & I can't see myself ever going back to my old eyeshadow now.

Soap & Glory Hand Maid Antibacterial Cleansing Gel - I've had a couple of bottles of this & will always repurchase, it's a definite necessary living in London & catching the tube... it's the nicest smelling hand sanitizer ever to!

Miracle Oil - This is of course a dupe of the much raved about Moroccan Oil, which sadly I can't afford... I picked this up from Aldi for only £4 & it makes my hair much easier to manage. I add a couple of drops to the palm of my hands & smooth it through the ends whilst my hair is damp.

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation - Probably my favourite foundation I've ever tried! It's the perfect shade for my skin, lasts all day & is great coverage. I can't recommend this foundation enough!

Figs & Rouge Rambling Rose Balm - I got this ages ago in a Glossybox, its really moisturising on the lips but it can also be used on your skin, I have a really awful anxiety habit of picking the skin around my nails & when I apply this it soothes the skin, resulting in a quicker healing process.

What are your October favourites?

my week in photos #9

I need to start getting back into doing these posts each Sunday as I enjoy having a little summary of my week & it'll be nice to look back on in say, a years time & reminisce on what I got up to! I have actually included a few of my favourite photos from the past few weeks because I didn't want to miss them out, so really this post should be renamed as 'what i've been upto' but I'd prefer to keep the little series going. If you don't already follow me on Instagram my username is 'loulabeth'.

Red cups are back! | Firework style nails | Nails inc freebies in Glamour |
Nandos with Dom | Me being a geek & heading to the library! | The cutest lil puppy in Harrods |
Cupcakes I made for my Sisters birthday | My Sisters birthday presents | Huge primark haul!

I'm now tucked up in bed, about to start revising for my exam tomorrow morning, my degree is pretty demanding, 2 exams & 2 assessments this week so I'll probably be quiet on the blogging scene again! :( On a nice note though, I've lit my Vanilla Cupcake Yankee candle & have a bar of Cadbury's fruit & nut chocolate to get me through!
