It really does feel like 2013 whizzed by, I kind of really hated 2013 but then when I actually think about it some pretty awesome things happened too! It was a bit of a strange year with some scary life decisions made but also lots of lovely times & happy memories, I just need to remember that though instead of always referring to 2013 as the worst year of my life!

January 3rd was my 21st Birthday which I celebrated with my family by having a little tea party. I then went back to London for the second semester of my second year & threw a party with my flat mates, our uni friends & also some of my closest friends who travelled down for the weekend. It was a good start to the year. After this though things start to get blurry for me, I can hardly think of anything that happened between February to April really. I was overwhelmed with university work, doing all nighters at least once a week to get the work completed. It wasn't because I was lazy, unmotivated or incapable, I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to be at university really. Mix that with the fact I absolutely despised my degree, felt like I didn't have any friends (when I did really, I seemed to be having a "everyone hates me" stage), living with a mouse infestation which resulted in me being woken up at 2am with one crawling across my pillow & family issues bringing me down I just felt lost & fed up. I didn't feel like me & became everything I said I would never be. I started having counselling around this time, I'm not to sure of dates because like I said everything just blurred together. My counsellor was the most amazing lady & chatting to her each week helped me, I always left feeling relieved & like she had literally lifted a weight of my shoulders. In the end it was decided I needed to postpone my Summer exams because I was considered to be unwell. It was really, really scary to make this decision & I knew people would ask me why I was doing that but deep down I knew it was best for me & thats what matters!

Early May I decided I needed to leave London & go stay with my Mum for a bit to relax & not be on edge about mice creeping round my room/arguments occurring with flatmates & basically just have time out from everything that had been going on. During my "bad" months one thing that brought happiness to me was anything to do with Pugs, I'd been obsessed with the squishy faced cuties for a long time, I don't know why they cheered me up so much but I'd find myself sat in bed researching about them, scrolling through photos & watching YouTube videos for hours, they really brightened my day! I'd been nagging my Mum for a while about getting one but her answer was always "no, you're at uni" or something very similar but the last day I was in London I came across a puppy for sale quite close to where she lives. I told my Mum I'd like to go look & at first I got her usual response "no" but for some reason I enquired about the puppies anyway & arranged to go see them! I was like a little child on Christmas Eve, I was so so so excited & to my surprise my Mum text me that night to say if I did want to get one that it was okay for me to stay at hers with puppy for a few weeks. So on May 10th I travelled to see the puppies & instantly fell in love, they were 9 weeks old & ready to leave to go their new homes. The next day I went to pick up my Pug Puppy, Matilda, known as Tilly. Her breeder had called her Sandie but I had always had my heart set on calling my pug Tilly! 11th May 2013 baby Tilly tots came into my life & she is one of the best things to happen to me. Honestly she has helped me so much, as crazy as that sounds she has done me the world of good.

During May I celebrated Doms 21st Birthday with him in Leeds followed by a trip to Cardiff so he could see the Dr Who exhibition (massive snore for me but anything for him!) & then June 3rd we finally moved into our first place together in Milton Keynes. It's hard being so far away from our Family & Friends but I'm literally the proudest girlfriend ever, Dom graduated from university & landed himself a job straight away without having a break from being in education or anything. He's worked so so hard & I'm incredibly thankful for all the support he gives to me & our little Tilly pug! I absolutely love living with him, having our own place is the best thing ever & something we certainly deserve after being in a long distance relationship for 3 years!

The end of July through to the start of August is when my Dad & little Brother Conor came over to England, it was the first time I had seen Conor since they moved to Turkey August 2012. Then I flew out to Turkey for 10 days at the end of August for a holiday with them all which was amazing, the sunshine was well appreciated! Not much went on in September & October and in November my Dad drove over from Turkey to the UK to see us again.

Finally December, it disappeared in seconds I swear but I definitely made progress with my health & happiness during the past month. I finally got myself organised & more motivated for life again. I also began sewing again & created lots of decorations for my family, I'm hoping to continue this into 2014 & possibly set up my own Etsy store or something! One of the most exciting things was getting our first Christmas tree together & decorating it, as well as it being Tilly's first Christmas, she was hyper all day playing with all her new toys & eating too many treats, it was the cutest! Christmas was spent up North & now I am back in our little flat ready to see in the New Year with two of my favourites.

2014 will see my 22nd Birthday, Tilly's 1st Birthday (yes I am going to celebrate my dogs Birthday!) , our 6 year anniversary, my return to university for my third & final year and I will hopefully see my savings grow & travel somewhere I've never been before!

I've got my empty jar ready to be filled with memories, 2014 I am ready for you, time to be super organised, focused & happy, lets do this!
Goodbye 2 0 1 3.

lush the christmas penguin bubble bar

I think this has to be the absolute cutest product Lush have ever released, it almost broke my heart to crumble him up & use in my bath! I'm considering buying one to keep on display on my bathroom shelf, it looks adorable & the scent lingers too so it can act as a mini air freshener! Little penguin smells of oranges & lemons, turns the bath water a lovely aqua blue shade & leaves my skin soft. I did use the whole penguin in my bath, I know some people only use half but I wanted an extra bubbly bath, I didn't achieve the mountain of bubbles I was expecting though, that was the only slight disappointment!  It's definitely my favourite Lush product now, I'm going to stock up on a couple to last me through the year, I'll be sad to see these little guys leave the shelves after Christmas!

Have you had one of these little penguin bubble bars?

I know everyone seems to be saying this but I honestly can't believe it's Christmas Day in a week, time has literally just disappeared! This post was meant to go up at the weekend but because I was travelling up North & had no spare time after celebrating my Nana's 70th Birthday it never happened! Here is my dream selection of beauty goodies that I'd love to receive, I know I'm receiving a few of these already (Dom can't keep secrets!) but I'll be able to pick up the other bits & pieces after Christmas for my Birthday! I recently got the Naked palette which I am in love with & I'm trying to justify the Naked 3 palette, do I really need another nude eyeshadow set? It is super pretty looking though... Let me know if you have it!

What is on your Christmas wishlist this year!?

christmas lush haul

A couple of weeks ago now I popped into Lush to have a look at their Christmas range & there was just no chance I was going to be leaving empty handed! I've never seen so many amazing bath bombs, I love Lush all year round but there festive bath treats are my absolute favourites, they always have some really cute ones & they all smell SO blumin' good! I wanted to buy one of each but restrained myself to these 4! I'm going to do individual posts on each of them so I will go into more detail soon. I love how Lush have managed to make a christmas pudding look adorable by creating a pastel version of the traditional festive pudding! I can't cope with how cute the little penguin is, it's gonna be a struggle to bring myself to crumble him up & watch him turn into lots of bubbles!  I bought Snowman because it's the festive version of the moisturising bath bomb Butterball, they're both vanilla scented & filled with lots of cocoa butter. Whenever I have a bath using a Butterball bomb my skin is always extra silky soft afterwards so I'm hoping little Snowman will do the same thing! I'm addicted to picking up Candy Mountain & sniffing it for ages haha, I sound crazy now but it has a proper sweet-shop scent very similar to snow fairy & the creamy candy bubble bar!

Have you picked up anything from the Lush Christmas range this year?

merry christmas ya filthy animal

I love being able to wear silly jumpers now the festive season is upon us, I've got a few from Primark this year they're great to cosy up in & I'll definitely be wearing one of mine on Christmas Eve when I  watch my favourite Christmas movies! This jumper is from, I'm a huge fan of Home Alone so when I was asked if I'd like this jumper I couldn't say no! Red & white are also my favourite Christmas colours, all my decorations are based around that colour scheme! The jumper is soft, snuggly & thick which is amazing considering the price. Sadly this jumper has gone out of stock but there are plenty of other festive themed jumpers still available. lovesasha are also donating 99p to The British Red Cross Phillipines Typoon Haiyan appeal for every jumper purchased, which is amazing & really makes the jumpers that little more special.

lovesasha have kindly given my readers the opportunity to receive 10% off, using the code 'blogger10' at the checkout!

Have you got a Christmas jumper this year?

soap & glory mini reviews

I have a stash of Soap & Glory products that I use on a regular basis yet haven't really mentioned on my blog so I thought I'd do this post to share some of my collection. You can see my other Soap & Glory reviews here! Soap & Glory are my favourite bath & body products, with a wide variety of lotions & potions available in various scents there is definitely something available for everyone! I always seem to get a couple of the gift sets at Christmas time, making my collection everlasting as I never get through it all! On Friday, Boots will be reducing the huge Yule Monty set like they do every year, it will go from £60 to £27 which is a really good deal if you're after a load of S&G products! This is the one they had last year, Best of All

Hand Food Hand Cream - I always have this in my handbag, I do find it can be a little greasy if I apply too much so I try to only use a pea-sized amount. It is good at making my hands feel hydrated though especially after I've been out in the cold!
Heel Genius Foot Mask - This product has one of those typical 'foot cream' smells which is okay but nothing special! It's a pretty mint blue colour though & does always leave my feet feeling smoother.
Peaches & Clean 4-in1 Cleansing Milk - I have a love/hate relationship with the smell of this cleanser, it reminds me of peach schnapps which isn't always something I want to be smelling if I'm using this early in a morning! It's reasonably okay at removing makeup, not my favourite but it does the job.
Clean On Me Shower Gel - It lathers up into a nice amount of bubbly foam & makes me feel all soft but once rinsed away I feel like I need to moisturise really well even though it says it has built in body lotion!?
Girligo Spray-On Body Moisturizing Mist - I found this moisturiser really handy whilst I was on holiday as it helped speed up the process of having to apply moisturisers & suncreams etc by being a spray-on mist!
Scrub Your Nose In It - I love this facial scrub because it also doubles up as a face mask if you leave it to dry. It's minty fresh, leaves my skin clear & radiant but without drying it out & leaving it feeling tight like some scrubs/masks do!
The Righteous Butter Body Butter - I don't really like body butters because they're too thick so I hardly ever use this unless I'm in a proper pamper mode but even then I still prefer to use Smoothie Star Body Milk. This butter has what I class as the signature Soap & Glory scent, I'm not even going to try describe it as I'm hopeless but it's one of those scents you could sniff all day without feeling sick!
Calm One Calm All Bubble Bath - Makes lots of bubbles, smells exactly like Clean On Me & The Righteous Butter with the signature S&G scent but again I feel like it dries my skin out like Clean On Me does!
Flake Away Body Scrub - One of the very first products I used from S&G was Flake Away! I love this because it's not super harsh & really gritty, it consists of just the right amount of fine sugary grains to exfoliate & scrub away dry skin.
Sugar Crush Body Scrub - I still haven't actually used this yet, I intended to use it through the summer because it's smells so fruity & zesty but I was still working my way through others! I really love the scent of this, it's so fresh & every S&G scrub I've used so far has always been fab so I'm sure this will be too!

What is your favourite Soap & Glory product?

christmas wish list | fashion

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine

If I had a tonne of money to spend on myself at Christmas these items would all be making their way into my life. I wanted a denim jacket way back in summer but never got round to hunting one down, now it's absolutely frrrrreezing this Topshop one with the shearling is perfect to keep warm in if I'm just nipping out. How cute is this Marc Jacobs Boston Terrier watch, if only it was a pug! Liberty is one of my favourite places to go in London, it's so lovely to look around & they have such pretty prints, the Barbour jacket lined with a rose print is amazing, I need a more practical dog walking coat because all of mine are fluffy or furry & get filthy when I take Tilly through the fields on little adventures! I actually can't get over how adorable the Cath Kidston santa jumper & the Topshop gingerbread jumpers are, I really want them but they are such silly prices for a jumper I could only wear in December! I know this is a 'Fashion' wishlist so pj's aren't really in that category but I love being cosy & comfy during Christmastime, Bambi was one of my favourite films as a little girl & even though these aren't exactly gonna keep me warm they'll look mega cute with my Primark fluffy teddy bear dressing gown!

p.s sorry for doing two Christmas themed posts in a row, I did have an outfit post planned but the photos are really awful & not how I wanted them so I'm unsure if I will post them ):
