wednesday wishlist #21

one | two | three | four | five | six

I feel like I haven't done a fashion wishlist for a while, I've been kinda overwhelmed with everything in the shops recently that I couldn't decide what I actually liked! I have to admit I find the whole pastel & gingham combinations dreamy but always think pastels can be awkward to pull off! Apart from loving everything pastel I'm in desperate need of a decent pair of black jeans, I have a pair of Primark ones but they go so baggy at the knees & I hate skinny jeans that are loose! Topshop Leigh jeans never fail me, so I'll be picking up a pair asap! After going through a stage of mostly wearing dresses & skirts I've become more of a jeans girl again & I'm really loving wearing skinnies with a dainty little top, like a cami or a pastel coloured shell top. New Look have some really pretty pieces atm, I got carried away scrolling for ages!

What's your favourite item from my wishlist?

catching up

Soap & Glory treats from Dom's parents | Tilly dressed up as a baby | Making my bathroom pretty!
Cute new Coffee, Tea & Sugar jars! | I made my Mum, Nana & Dom's mum these little hearts for Mother's day | The little Easter Bunny Bubble Bar from Lush was almost too adorable to use but it was worth using it for the pretty pink bubbles & floating petals.
My Easter chocolate | Dom's Dad baked me cakes, cookies & scones when we went to stay up North, not even joking he actually baked the entire lot for me, best "father-in-law" ever! | Tilly & all her Easter treats, world's most spoilt doggy!
The way Tilly sleeps, paws in the air haha | Pretty Spring Blossom | Visited my Sister in London on Friday, I love all the little hidden streets, this was one of the cutest!

I can't believe it's been over 2 weeks since I last blogged! I've been dying to blog every day but with working, having a little pug to look after, travelling to see our families up north & keeping the flat tidy/organised I'm always out of time! I haven't even turned my laptop on recently. I always admire people who manage to blog every day without fail, especially those that have very hectic schedules, I just don't know how you do it! I really love blogging & have missed sitting at my laptop typing away these past few weeks! I think I've finally got a little bit more structure to my life now so I'm hoping I can blog more regularly, it's something I really enjoy doing in the evenings after a long day at work, I can completely zone out of all my worries & stresses & focus on my little blog! As a little "return to blogging" I thought I'd share my favourite photos from the past couple of weeks, I love to document my life as much as possible so that I have something to look back on in years to come!

How do you stay organised? I need some tips!

NYX powder blush in peach

NYX products have been popular in the blogosphere for a while, however they aren't the easiest of brands to get hold of here in the UK. I prefer to see a product in real life rather than purchase it online as I like to see the shades available up close before deciding which one to get. I recently started working at Next & couldn't believe it when I spotted the NYX stand over in the Womenswear accessories department!! I knew the blushers were raved about a lot & as I had been looking for a new blusher for what seemed like forever I asked my Twitter followers for shade recommendations. Literally everyone said 'Peach' so I made a mental note to have a look at it next time I was in work to see if it really was a pretty as everyone was claiming it to be.

When I found Peach on the stand I instantly knew it was my kinda shade, being pale I really like pretty pink shades & Peach was a perfect mix of pink with a peach tone. The blush is highly pigmented so a little really does go a long way. I lightly swirl my RT Blush Brush in the pan & gently apply it to the apples of my cheeks. For £6 I think these blushers are a complete bargain, they blend beautifully & create a lovely glow of colour on my cheeks. I find some blushers just sit awkwardly on my skin but with this NYX one I don't have that problem at all, it glides on & is very easy to blend in to ensure I don't end up with clown cheeks! The shade range is also incredible with 25 to pick from you're spoilt for choice & I want to add at least 5 more of them to my collection, they're all so pretty! I'm absolutely obsessed with 'Peach' blush now & I haven't opted for any other blusher since I welcomed this little beauty into my life!

A little heads up if you want to get your hands on some NYX Cosmetics then check this link to see which Next stores stock it! There's quite a few so you might just find a store nearby :)

Have you tried any NYX products before?

spring/summer nail polish

Recently I decided to have a look through my nail polish stash & pick out some shades for Spring & Summer. Now the weather is warming up I feel like I need to wear some Summery shades to match the pretty flowers & blue skies I am seeing more & more of! I have quite a ridiculous collection of nail polishes now so I try to rotate which ones I use & bring a few new ones to the surface, but of course a few firm favourites always sneak their way in! My most favourite of the bunch is & probably always will be Essie - Mint Candy Apple. I've almost finished this bottle now which is something that never happens with me & polish but I go for weeks wearing this same shade because I just can't get enough! I thought I would have grown bored of it by now, but nope I'm still very much obsessed with it. I also have a similar obsession with Barry M - Blueberry so naturally I picked that out as one of my top Spring nail polish shades! I've not worn this Ciate - Big Yellow Taxi polish but when I saw it I knew I had to give it a go, yellow instantly makes me think of sunshine & the beach so when I need to brighten up my day I'll be popping this shade on my nails. I featured Model's Own - Blueberry Muffin & Pink Veneer in this post but I had to include them again in this one because I do prefer pastel over brights & these are super pretty. I think Pink Veneer & Barry M - Peach Melba will go nicely together, I might create a post featuring different nail art combinations with those two actually! Another pastel I've included is Sally Hansen - Purple Heart which is a candy pink toned purple, it makes me think of party ring biscuits for some reason!

What are your favourite Spring/Summer nail polish shades?

march favourites

I didn't do a February Monthly favourites as I didn't really try anything new & anything that was a favourite of mine had already been featured enough on my blog. I try not to be too repetitive with the products I feature but obviously the ones I love will make quite a few appearances but most of this months favourites have never been on my blog before!

At the beginning of March I decided I wanted to ombre my hair again so I picked up this Touch of Silver Purple Shampoo to reduce the brassy tones. I can really see a difference after using it, my ends are a nicer shade of blonde. I use this a couple of times a week, it does say to use it in between washes to avoid product build up but I don't always do this & haven't turned my hair purple, yet! It does make my hair feel quite dry but it's nothing that a good condition afterwards can't fix!  I've been wearing the Revlon ColorBurst Crayon Matte Balm in the shade Elusive almost everyday for work recently. It's such a lovely pink shade which I find is ideal for everyday wear, it's really pretty & whilst it doesn't last a great amount of time I like that it adds a wash of colour to my lips. I've been carrying the Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray in my handbag as I always like to have a fragrance on me to use after work rather than keeping an actual bottle of perfume in my bag, for £2 it's such a bargain & vanilla scents are my favourite! I wrote a post on the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water & I have used it everyday since. It's a quick & easy way to remove the bulk of my makeup before a second cleanse. I can't recommend this micellar water enough to you all, for less than £5 it does an amazing job at removing makeup (including Benefit They're Real Mascara!!), & it feels refreshing on my skin. Batiste Dry Shampoo has been my life saver this month, I've not really been a big user of dry shampoo in the past although I've always had a bottle floating around my room I just never felt that I needed to use it. However this month my hair has been getting greasy quicker than usual & washing my hair is an actual chore to me so being able to spray this all over & achieve fresh looking hair is my kinda product! I repurchased Revlon PhotoReady Foundation after not having it in my makeup collection for ages. It's one of my favourite drugstore foundations, the shade is a good match, I love the dewy finish it gives my skin & it lasts all day whilst I'm at work. My absolute favourite product is definitely NYX Powder Blush in Peach it's the most prettiest shade, it's really pigmented so a little goes a long way & it's only £6! I picked mine up in Next but you can also purchase it from the NYX website which I've just had a little peak at & now I need another 5 blusher shades in my life!

What have been your recent favourites?
