I feel like I haven't browsed the likes of Topshop, ASOS etc for absolutely ages so when I decided to have a little look this morning my wishlist kinda spiralled outta control! I struggled to pick out things to include on the post because there was sooo much I wanted, spending bans are not fun but I'm doing really well & thats a good feeling (:
I jumped straight to the knitwear section on Topshop as they always do so many variations & I was spoilt for choice but without a doubt my favourite was the lacey pearl hemmed jumper in a soft duck egg blue shade, the only downside to this is I'm not sure that colour actually suits me. I also checked out their winter accessories as I always pick up a new bobble hat each year, so many chunky knits, fluffy pom poms & autumnal colours to choose from. Another find from Topshop are the black ankle boots with the gold detailing & heel, I think I've found my Winter boots for this year!
Of course, I've gotta live up to my crazy pug lady status & add in a couple of pug themed items! This time in the form of a cute pastel headscarf & if you're not a pug fan like me then you'll have probably noticed it has cats on it too! The little pug socks are adorable too, I own way too many pairs of socks with pugs on but one more pair won't hurt! Also, ASOS & River Island always seem to stock loads of pug stuff which is awesome for pug lovers like me (:
Zara never fail me when it comes to the handbag department, my last few have actually been from there but I tend to go for a black option. I saw this tan croc printed one & even though it's different from my usual style of handbag, I really really like it! It looks sturdy & big enough to lug around my MacBook too!
The Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have been popping up here, there & everywhere in the beauty blogosphere. The rose gold packaging is seriously dreamy, theres loads of shades available but I've got my eye on Glastonberry - a perfect autumnal plum/berry kinda shade!
Finally, I couldn't resist including a Christmas Yankee Candle (58 days to go...) I usually go for the vanilla, sugary scents but the freshness of the peppermint is really soothing & it's nice to try something different!
I'm always trying out new beauty products & welcoming them to my already out of control stash, but being a beauty blogger my obsession is acceptable... right!? A lot of the time I never get round to featuring new products, basically because I'm the most unorganised blogger to exist so I've decided to start a new series on my blog which gives me the opportunity to share my first impressions of any new things that join my collection.
First up is Boots Botanics All Bright Purifying Face Scrub, Boots Botanics range is my favourite drugstore skincare brand, I've never used a product from them that I didn't like. I know some people say scrubs with beads can be quite damaging to your skin but I've never had a problem with them in the past & the other types of exfoliants never make my skin feel as soft or smooth. The reason I really like this one is because the beads aren't harsh at all but I can really feel a difference after using it. I've had some dry skin patches around my forehead recently & after using this scrub it's all been buffed away ready for moisturiser to be applied.
The second product that has joined my haircare products is the Lee Stafford Frizz OFF Keratin Spray*. Frizzy hair is literally the bane of my life, often I spend around an hour blow drying & straightening my hair for it to be back to it's former frizzy self in a matter of hours. It's such a battle trying to keep it tame but this keratin spray is pretty much a miracle product in my eyes! I used it on Friday & I haven't had to straighten my hair since, it's remained straight & has turned into a frizzy mess, yay! It has the best smell ever too, I can't really describe it but it's a girly sweet kinda scent that hangs around all day which is a bonus!
And, last but certainly not least Makeup Revolution Blush Sticks* have been the most exciting arrival this week! I'm still trying them out so I'll probably post a more in depth review soon but I'm impressed that MUR have brought out each shade in two formulas, matte & bold. They're also a multi-use product & can be applied to lips too, there are lots of pretty shades to choose from so there is definitely a shade to suit everyone!
With everything a little hectic at the moment (promise I won't mention how busy I am again any time soon!) I didn't get the chance to post my September favourites & whilst I was wracking my brain for blog post ideas I thought, why not share some current favourites instead?
First up is a sweet smelling perfume, LUSH Snow Fairy, which was unfortunately limited edition last year but I'm hoping/praying it makes a return for the festive season again because I'm running low! I've had quite problematic skin & it's something I've been trying to get under control as it really knocks my confidence. I knew I had a product that could help reduce the spots I've been suffering with & the amount of joy I felt when I discovered my tiny pot of Origins Super Spot Remover last week was slightly ridiculous but very relieving! Applying a small blob of the gel on any problem areas dries out the skin & lessens redness. It certainly doesn't remove imperfections over night but it definitely helps to speed up the process of achieving blemish free skin. I've been loving lighter coverage foundations recently, with YSL Touché Éclat being one of my most loved & Revlon Nearly Naked following close behind. The thinner consistency still fulfils my coverage requirements without the cakey feeling some foundations have. Running late seems to be my speciality at the moment so I've been reaching for the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in Rich Russet as the doe foot applicator allows me to create a smokey eye look in seconds, it's blendable, highly pigmented & won't budge all day! My final favourite is a bit of a treat, my Mum & Nana surprised me with a pastel green bag containing a box filled with Laduree Macarons after their trip to London at the weekend, which I unfortunately had to miss out on (boo!) If you're ever wondering which flavour to choose, I'd recommend Salted Caramel, they're to die for!
Let me know your current favourites in the comments!
Suddenly feeling really Christmassy after seeing/smelling the Festive Scented Yankee Candles!
Enjoying a Toffee Nut Latte that was almost as big as my face in Costa!
Being organised & "sofa shopping" - so hard to choose!
Sundays are a day for relaxing before a busy week at work for most people, but with my job being in retail it's very rare that I'm actually at home. Today was one of those weekends were I was lucky enough to have the whole day off, so I took advantage & had a little day out with Dom! Firstly we had breakfast in bed, which isn't always the easiest with a greedy pug around but she kept quiet when we treated her to a few little pieces of bacon! Then we headed into town to pick up a few things, but mostly I wanted to see all the Lush Christmas stuff in store. Possibly did a bit of damage to my bank balance in there.. oops... haul anyone!? We also went on a hunt for a Halloween costume for Tilly as she has a party to go to, she genuinely has more of a social life than me haha! Oh & I had a go at vlogging today, I can't believe how easy YouTubers make it seem! I definitely need more practice, but it was pretty fun so I'm not gonna give up just yet (:
Another bit of news to share with you all & the reason for a serious lack of blog posts is that I've started uni again. I managed to sort out a transfer so I'm kinda busy with uni, plus house hunting & general lifey things that I've ended up neglecting my blog more than I meant to! I've already got a tonne of uni work to get through, but I'm really really going to try & get some sort of blogging schedule in place, I'm thinking Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday for new posts?
Last Saturday I headed over to Manchester with Abi to attend the AX Paris A/W Press day to spend the afternoon looking at their new collection whilst drinking cocktails & eating cupcakes! The event itself was held at the Black Dog Ballroom, a Cocktail bar that was the perfect venue to showcase the A/W collection! The collection consisted mostly of metallic two pieces, leather skirts, fabulous fur coats & plenty of glitter for the upcoming party season! Personally my favourite item has got to be the fluffy fur cream coat (pictured above), I can imagine it being really cosy when it's freezing outside!
As well as having a look at the clothes & eating cute cupcakes there was also a chance to pose in a photobooth & get a henna tattoo! Abi & I decided to take a few photos, although it took us a few turns to remember to hold our poses until the flash had gone off completely! We kept moving away too quickly so we've got a few funny shots of us mid pose, at least we've had plenty of practice now haha!
It was amazing being able to hang out in the same room as lots of bloggers & soak up the atmosphere, I felt really nervous to attend as it was only my second blogger event & I get really anxious but I'm glad I went along as I enjoyed the whole experience! I got to catch up with Claire too who I previously met at the South Beach Blogger event & I also met Sindy who was lovely enough to come over & introduce herself to us!
One of the highlights of the event was being able to meet Kayleigh, I've read her blog for at least two years now so it was absolutely lovely to chat to her in person! Kayleigh, thank you so so SO much for allowing Abi & myself to attend the event, I had the best time & it was so nice to meet you! (:
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year... I'm one of those people that gets ridiculously excited seeing all the Christmas products hit the shops, even in August when the first few bits make an appearance I love it! One of my favourite Christmas releases has got to be the Lush Christmas range & I've been eagerly awaiting for their website to be updated with the products after seeing Zoe's post the other week! Without fail I always buy myself a couple of bottles of the Snow Fairy Shower gel, it's a super sweet scent but I'm addicted to it & can't wait to have it back in my life already! One of the new products for 2014 is the Butterbear Bath Bomb, how cute is this little teddy shaped bath treat! I'm drawn to it even more so because Cocoa butter is it's main ingredient & it has the same vanilla scent as the Butterball Bath Bomb, another fave of mine! I'm looking forward to soaking up the festive goodness & picking out a few treats to try, theres lots of new products this year & as always I'm attracted to the adorable animal ones. Last year my favourite Christmas product was the Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar, I didn't realise these were supposed to be crumbled under a running tap at first & ended up wasting a whole penguin by chucking it in the bath! After a google search to find out why there was a serious lack of bubbles from my "bubble bar" I learnt the proper way to use it & wasn't disappointed with the mountain of bubbles that appeared in my bath the next time I used one! The Christmas range is available to buy in store from tomorrow & if I wasn't working all day I'd be heading straight over to my local one! No doubt there will be a Lush haul appearing over on here soon, or perhaps even over on my YouTube channel!? (Go subscribe if you're feeling kind & keep an eye out for a video coming soon...!)
Will you be picking up any of the Lush Christmas products?!
