Homeware Wishlist

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven

We should be moving within the next 6-8 weeks if all goes to plan & up until now I've been quite reserved when it comes to buying things for our new home. It feels like an absolute lifetime ago since we began our house hunt so now that we have actually found one it doesn't seem real! A huge homeware splurge is bound to happen any time soon... I'm dying to click the checkout button on the Oliver Bonas website, but I keep thinking I should be saving & not spending! I've been buying little bits & pieces for months but now I need to start getting serious & become a bit more organised. Of course we will need the boring but necessary purchases like a washing machine & fridge but I'm just gonna ignore those for as long as possible & buy the fun things instead! I'm going for a neutral colour scheme when it comes to decor, white & grey being the main wall colours. The house has original wooden floorboards downstairs & we are also going to pull up the carpet in one of the bedrooms (hello white wooden floorboards... living the Pinterest dream!!) so I need to inject some colour with the accessories. I'm mostly going along with this new 'blogger trend' of being obsessed with copper but I also love mint green & baby pink too!

March Makeup

March is the month that welcomes Spring, we see lots more daylight, blue skies & wild flowers blooming. When Spring arrives I instantly want to ditch the heavy makeup & go for a more natural look. So, with that in mind I've been opting for fresh feeling makeup, with a light base & a dewy, highlighted finish, nude lips & a subtle smokey eye.

The foundation I've been obsessing over recently is the NYX BB Cream which for some reason I can't find on any UK websites & I purchased my tube from Next before they discontinued it in their stores. It's a super lightweight formula but surprisingly provides decent coverage, feels moisturising & makes my skin smooth. After applying my base I spritz the NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray to provide an extra 'glow' & make my skin appear fresh. Whilst it dries I move onto my eye makeup, which consists of sweeping Virgin, Sin & Sidecar from the Naked Palette over my eyelids & kinda hoping for the best. I'm no expert when it comes to doing my eye shadow, so going with the flow works well for me! I then add a couple of coats of mascara & a flick of winged liner but these rarely change so I didn't include them in the photo! On my lips I've been keeping it pretty minimal by using the No7 High Shine Lip Crayon in which is a neutral nude pink shade. Finally I use a touch of powder, the Bourjois Poudre De Riz Java Rice Loose Powder which illuminates  instead of creating a matte finish. I mostly pop it on my cheek & brow bones & use it mainly as a highlighter to complete my makeup!
What makeup have you been wearing this month?

One To Try: Redken Smooth Lock Butter Silk

Redken Smooth Lock Butter Silk 250ml* - £16.99

I'm a big fan of products developed to improve the condition of dry, damaged or frizzy hair mostly because my hair is the bane of my life but also I can't resist that salon fresh feeling thats achievable in my own home. I'm constantly trying out new products, in fact I think my hair care stash would rival some hairdressers, it really is starting to get outta control! I'm not complaining though, I actually find it comforting to know I've a whole host of hair products stored in my beauty drawer when I'm having a bad hair day or feel like using a hair mask during a pamper session.

Redken Smooth Lock Butter Silk is a hair treatment that provides intense nourishment to leave hair feeling smoother, more manageble with a luscious looking shine. Redken have enriched the hair butter with their Heat Fuse Complex and Interlock Protein Network to nourish and keep frizz at bay.

The mask is applied to towel dried hair & left on for up to 15 minutes before it needs to be rinsed away thoroughly. It's a thick conditioner-like consistency that my hair seems to soak up, it doesn't feel weighed down &Whilst washing the product away my hair feels silky, a sign to me that it has worked & given my hair a much needed boost of moisture. It's quite pricey but it leaves my hair in a much better state in comparison to using a standard conditioner & it has a 'professional salon scent' that adds a little luxury into my hair washing routine!

Let me know what hair products you use!

A Few February Favourites

February, the shortest month of the year, you could blink and practically miss the entire month if you weren't careful & I'm almost sure I did blink, where did that month go? Honestly, I never believed my parents/grandparents/adults in general when they told me time goes by too quickly, as a child I always thought 5 minutes felt like forever whilst I waited for my tea to be plated up & brought to the table... whilst I still am impatient waiting for food to be served, (or should I say hangry!?) I am always wishing time would slow down or to be granted a few extra hours in the day. It's official, I am getting old.

Onto my favourites, I was sent the ever so popular Feather Print iPhone* case for my gold 5S from Iconemesis. I used to have a Fifi Lapin one for my old iPhone so I was pretty excited to welcome another Iconemesis case into my life. They're really sturdy plastic, making them less prone to shatter which is great for someone like me who currently has a very smashed up screen from dropping it far too many times. Seeing my phone fall to the floor usually results in my case chipping/cracking too but *touches wood* so far so good with this one!

I look forward to cleansing my skin at the end of the day so much now that I've got a nice little skincare routine in place. It's such a good feeling going to bed with fresh, clean skin  & waking up in the morning not dreading what my skin looks like after sleeping in makeup! Along with my Liz Earle C&P I've been spritzing the Antipodes Resurrect Toner* afterwards to ensure my pores close before moving onto the next step. It's got a calming, natural scent of Lavender & Sage which makes it perfect to use before bedtime, but also in a morning when I'm running round like crazy trying to get ready quickly. I'm really keen to try out some more Antipodes skincare, especially the Vanilla Pod  Hydrating Day Cream & Manuka Honey Mask.

Surprise, Surprise, Soap & Glory are featuring in yet another monthly favourites, I just can't get enough of this brand! I've been working my way through the huge box of goodies that was in the Next Big Thing gift set with the Whipped Clean Shower Butter standing out as my most loved. Pistachio, Almond and Sweet Vanilla fragrance the Body Wash/Butter, which lathers up into a creamy foam & leaves my skin feeling suitably soft. I'm obsessed with using this, the smell is delicious & really similar to another of my faves, Smoothie Star, I'll 100% be repurchasing it when I run out!

Essie Fiji is one of those shades that creates the ideal 'minimal' no fuss nail look. It's a milky pastel pink colour, which does require a couple of coats to be completely opaque but Essie polishes tend to dry reasonably quickly & apply really easily, so thats okay! I've actually reapplied this a few times in a row as I really like how it looks & I know I'll continue to get a lot of wear out of it through the Spring & Summer months.

February saw a whole lot of fuss surrounding Benefit's latest product launch, Roller Lash, which was  released on February 26th however a sample was included with Elle Magazine so I hunted it down to give it a try. The brush is made up of little hooked bristles which help to curl & lift the lashes, producing a wide eye effect. I love that I can apply one coat & see the results of using this mascara so quickly, it's got quite a wet formula which I don't mind as I find it's easier to apply. I'm tempted to purchase the full size of this on payday!

What are your monthly favourites?

Pawsome Box January 2015

(love her lil tongue peeping out!)
Pawsome Box - £19.90*
So, last month Tilly Pug was lucky enough to receive her very own goodie box filled with treats & toys from Pawsome Box, I'm just sorry it's taken me so long to put together this post! It works in a very similar way to the beauty subscription boxes us #bbloggers are familiar with, a box arrives through the post each month, although there is the option to have a 6 month or yearly subscription too & they can be cancelled at any time! There's also a Purrfect Box available for those who have Cats. Each month the Pawsome Box has a different theme, this one was based on America, hence the Cola Bottle & Baseball toys!

Of course as soon as I showed Tilly the box her curly little tail started wagging & she was sniffing it like crazy, she was eager for me to open it & show her the contents inside! We opened it up together & Tilly inspected each item with lots of licks & love, she was genuinely so excited bless! Her favourite toy is the Pink 'Pet Cola' & it's also my favourite too, I love toys that are basically dog versions of Human things!  I think these boxes are such a good idea, I spoil Tilly with new treats & toys all the time so it's nice to have a box filled with things to give her that are a bit different from what I usually find at the pet shop/supermarkets! All doggies deserve to be spoilt & a Pawsome Box is the perfect way to treat your pooch, Tilly certainly gives her paw of approval! (:

On a side note, today I reached 2000 followers on bloglovin' - thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to read this little space of mine on the Internet, even though I don't update it half as much as I'd love to it makes me so happy!
