Sometimes a new beauty product is launched which causes quite a stir in the beauty blogosphere, this time it was St Tropez's turn to excite us all! Introducing their In Shower Tanning Lotion created a lot of curiosity, as it was a completely new idea to the fake tanning industry. Being a fake tan newbie I was intrigued to give this a go, it seemed simple enough to use & I liked the idea of it being gradual. I'm such a pale person that building up a tan slowly but surely is the safest option for me! I picked it up from Boots as they had an introductory offer on it, so rather than £14.50 I paid around £9.00.
I mentioned in my June Favourites that I was disappointed with this at first and that was because I wasn't rubbing the lotion in enough & also not being consistent with my applications. I took to Google to find out where I was going wrong & discovered I needed to brush any excess water off my skin plus apply it for 3 days to see any proper results. So everyday after I had washed & exfoliated, instead of hopping out of the shower & grabbing my warm, fluffy towel I would dry myself slightly & then apply a generous layer of lotion. The trick is to apply quite a thick layer & rub it in circular motions to create a sort of film across your skin. Then you need to wait for 3 minutes before rinsing it away with warm water. Waiting around for 3 minutes is probably the worst part of this whole tanning process but I soon learnt to keep myself occupied by brushing my teeth, applying a hair mask or even re-arranging all my products in the cupboards! Oh & I always make sure to bring my iPhone into the bathroom (risky I know!) so I can time the 3 minutes, it does say on the bottle not to exceed that limit but occasionally I've left it on for longer & haven't caused myself any harm (apart from the incident I mention below... vvv). Once the 3 minutes is up I step back into the shower & wash it all away. Sounds a bit obvious really but make sure you give yourself a really good wash as the product can stick a little bit & I somehow left a lot on my neck which resulted in a really orange patchy tan! Perhaps that is why they warn you to wash it away after 3 minutes! The product has a warm biscuit fragrance to it, which I don't mind actually as it's not that offensive & fades away after a day.
I thought I would see results instantly, but gradual is definitely the key word here. It took 3 days before I saw any colour appearing but after that it does start to build up nicely & I've actually been able to experience my first proper tan! I even put my arm next to a couple of people & had a better tan than them which is the first time that has ever happened to me, so it was all a bit exciting haha! I know some people have said they didn't see any results from this, I personally think it's an ideal gradual tan for fair skin tones as it develops into subtle, golden glow that is natural looking. As well as it being a tanning product it's a great moisturiser too, thanks to the Sweet Almond Oil it keeps my skin feeling silky soft & means I don't have the extra job of moisturising afterwards!
I was just flicking through my camera roll on my iPhone, looking back at all the photos I took during my time in London when I suddenly got the urge to type up a blog post! I've been revisiting some of my old posts recently, mostly the more lifestyle kinda ones & feeling really glad that I took the time to document parts of my life. I love that feeling of nostalgia when you see photos of a particular event & reading back over some of my previous posts brought back so many memories that I had completely forgotten about. It's spurred me on to continue publishing more personal posts actually, sometimes I worry about sharing loads of stuff on the Internet, I dunno why really tho.
When I arranged to stay with my Sister in London we didn't make any official plans, in fact we never do really & find it much more enjoyable that way. There's no stressing over whether we will make it to certain places on time, we go with the flow & see where we end up! The day I arrived I mooched around Oxford St as I wanted to get a new outfit for the Oliver Bonas Christmas Preview, so I browsed in Topshop, H&M, all of the usual places (obviously had to snap the floral arrangements outside of Liberty!) and then I headed over to the LUSH Oxford St Store which I've been dying to visit. It was crazy busy but I purchased some of the items that are exclusives so I'll be popping up a post in the next couple of days! After that I hopped on the tube & went over to my Sisters flat to drop my bags off & decide where to go out for dinner. We ended up going to Bill's because neither of us had actually ever been, we shared a bowl of Pea & Mint soup and then we each had a burger. I'm not gonna lie I was pretty disappointed with my meal, the burger was really burnt (I asked for medium rare!) I don't understand the hype at all! I did however enjoy a Peach Bellini & I loved the way the restaurant was decorated. After our food we went for Cocktails, we ended up getting a Detox one made up of Kale & Spinach, just to try something different really & it was pretty tasty actually! We stayed out for a couple more hours, I don't see my Sister often so it was nice to sit & chat about life & things & properly catch up.
My second day in London was spent having a late Breakfast at the Cafe Hannah works at before getting in a car & going over to the OB event held at their Marylebone store. After the event I took a trip over to the made.com showroom as we have ordered a sofa so I went to check it out before heading over to Shoreditch to have a little explore. We went in & out of loads of different shops, mostly little independent ones selling cute stationery & homewares, then Hannah noticed a T2 Tea store so we went in & ended up whiling away a fair chunk of time. We were busy testing out different teas & tisanes & actually won one of the Pumping Pomegranate Tisanes! The Iced Teas they had out to sample were so refreshing after walking round London all day, the Apple Crumble one was tastyy. I saw a teeny tiny miniature dachshund too, so of course I squealed & couldn't stop smiling. I always have a little goal whenever I go to Shoreditch to see how many cute dogs I can spot, Shoreditch is the best for dog spotting haha & I saw a Frenchie too! Little side note... When I lived in London, before I had Tilly Pug I'd go Pug stalking & I'd be guaranteed to meet one hanging around the Brick Lane area! After our little tea stop I realised we were close to the Beigel shop, I used to love getting a cream cheese beigel after a night out in Shoreditch so I had to stop & get one, for old times sake! Then we grabbed a Monmouth Coffee & hopped back on the Tube so I could pick up my bags from the flat before setting off on my mammoth bus journey (because of the Tube strike) over to Euston to catch my train back home to Liverpool. Whenever I visit London I always have the best time & it makes me feel so thankful that I had the opportunity to live down there for two years, plus I still have the opportunity to visit whenever I feel like it thanks to my lil sis!
It's Peony season & that is the best season in my opinion (ok, maybe Christmas is but still!), these beautiful blooms are everywhere & that makes me so happy. I was sent the most incredible bouquet of Peonies last week, they are more beautiful than I can explain & I have been eager to share these photos since I took them! Peonies seem to be the latest accessory for beauty bloggers photographs & I fully admit I am well & truly in with this trend but they compliment beauty products so well & really are the prettiest flowers ever so I don't mind seeing them pictured in almost every blog I read! In fact, I'm lovin' it (babababa...) & will be sad when Peony season comes to an end.
Anyway, Serenata Flowers have been kind enough to not only send me the beautiful Peony Pleasure Bouquet (£38.99) but are also offering my readers a chance to win their very own bouquet too, or a £40 gift voucher, whatever you prefer! My bouquet arrived the day after I'd responded to the email, speedy delivery service is the best & I've now got Serenata Flowers in my bookmarks incase I ever want to send a bunch of flowers over to someone. Price wise I would say Serenata are really reasonable, especially when you consider that for 4/5 Peony Stems in Supermarkets can be upto £8.00. This bouquet contains 15 Peonies plus sprigs of Bupleurum & leafy Hosta Francee, it would make a beautiful gift or a real nice treat to yourself! I actually wish I could have this bunch delivered to my door each week!
The giveaway will run from Sunday 19th July 2015 until Sunday 2nd August 2015. Unfortunately the giveaway is for UK entrants only.
So, Zoella has released another collection to her beauty range, this time round the products are a Tutti Fruity fragrance and contained in pretty pink, turquoise & lemon coloured packaging which is decorated with polka dots, lace detailing & bows. The Tutti Fruity scent comes from the extracts of Acai and Blueberry that have been packed into each product. The collection contains seven new products, priced between £3.00 to £8.00 and can be bought both in store & online at Superdrug & online at FeelUnique. I couldn't resist picking up some of the stuff to try, it all looked so cute & I was intrigued to give them a go!
I picked up the Foam Sweet Foam Cleansing Shower Gel (£3.50) because shower gel is something I use daily so I knew I'd use it up regardless! Firstly I really like the name of this product, the play on words is fun (Home Sweet Home/Foam Sweet Foam) & seems to be a a regular occurrence with Zoella's products. The pink pearlescent gel lathers up nicely & it has a subtle scent of berries, nothing overpowering but it's definitely fruity. It cleanses my skin leaving it feeling suitably soft & smooth.
Candy Cream Body Lotion (£5.00) is a moisturizer filled with little bright pink beads that burst as you rub the cream into your skin. The bursting beads are a nice little extra, something a bit different from your usual body lotion anyway! It's consistency is just right in my opinion, not too thick or thin & absorbs into the skin pretty quickly. It doesn't have that sticky residue feeling either, just a lovely soft finish with a light fragrance that hangs around all day!
Scrubbing Me Softly Smoothing Body Scrub (£7.00) does exactly as its name describes! It's a sugar scrub that feels quite balmy making it a really gentle yet effective exfoliator. Again it has a light, fruity fragrance, it's fresh & uplifting. It contains Cocoa Butter which is an ingredient my skin always loves, it conditions & smoothes, making the scrub a perfect leg shaving/fake tanning preparation product!
The Fresh Fizz Bath Fizzer (£5.00) is a chocolate bar shaped bath bomb, unlike the original Fizz Bar this one is made up of four big pieces rather than eight. It's said to turn your bath into a a fragrant fruity soak, fruity scented bath products are one of my faves so I'm hoping this is as good as it sounds! (I've not tried it yet because our bath needs re-grouting #grownupproblems)
I'm really pleased with my Zoella Beauty purchases, I'm actually tempted to pick up a couple of things from the original collection to see what they are like too. I've followed Zoe from the early days, I was obsessed with her Primark hauls & Car Boot finds so it's really exciting to see her ongoing success & to have launched her very own beauty line is amazing!
What do you think of Zoella Beauty? Have you tried anything from?
Last week I travelled down to London to visit my Sister & to attend the Oliver Bonas Christmas Preview Event. It sounds so cliche to say this but I literally couldn't believe one of my favourite brands not only recognised my blog but also invited me to their press event. It amazes me that people even read this lil blog of mine, so when the email appeared in my inbox I was beyond excited!
Obsessed with these cushions & the geo print throw, they would look amazing on the new sofa!
Prettiest packaging ever!
Pineapples! & apple trinkets too, so cute
Teeny tasty macarons!
The print on that dress gets ALL of the heart eyed emojis from me
How perfect is the mint coloured coat, it's so pretty & the knitted grey, hat scarf & gloves with the pale pink fur pom pom are amazing too!
The event was held at the Marylebone store, it had been filled with all the new Autumn/Winter range, along with lots of tasty nibbles for us to tuck into plus a nail bar was set up for us to get a manicure too! I was in my element admiring all the homewares, planning on where I'd put certain things in my house & chatting away to the lovely PR ladies. I also fell in love with pretty much the entire fashion range, Oliver Bonas is my most-loved homeware brand so I've always overlooked the clothing but they've got some reallllly nice pieces.
OB have completely steered away from the traditional Autumn/Winter vibe & kept with their style they're introducing splashes of neon, pops of pastel colours & metallics for the upcoming seasons. I feel really inspired to do something different with my Winter wardrobe this year after seeing the pastel & neon colours sitting amongst the greys, I like the idea of a pop of colour & I would never have imagined neon in Winter until now! I'm usually found wrapped up in a red tartan scarf!
I don't mean to wish my life away but I really can't wait for September to roll around so I can get my hands on some of the things I've got my eyes on! Thank you so much to all the ladies at OB for organising the event & for my amazing goodie bag (so spoilt!), my wishlist was already huge & now it's just ridiculous! (:
It's Saturday night & here I am, sat in bed (still waiting on the arrival of our sofa) browsing through Pinterest etc looking for interior inspiration. We were supposed to have a really productive DIY day but with one thing after another today was basically written off & I reverted back to bed by 4pm. All evening I've been lying here like grrr house y u no pretty but I've decided to stop feeling sorry for myself & gather some ideas together. I was hoping to get the living room walls painted today so that when the sofa does arrive, in 4 days time hopefully, the room is ready. Maybe tomorrow will be a better DIY day, I'm hoping so anyway!
When I ordered the sofa I was torn between choosing a turquoise blue armchair or sticking with the same colour as the sofa. In the end I went with the same because I'm forever getting bored & thought it would be better to stick with a grey sofa that I can add cushions & throws to, they're easy to switch around & I can inject different colours whenever I feel like it! I'm drawn to all the turquoise & mint colours at the mo, so I definitely want to get some cushions in those kinda shades but apart from that I'm not gonna stick to a colour scheme really. We are also hoping to add another little Pug to our family in the next few months so I'm gonna start stocking up on throws now to make sure I'm able to protect our new sofas from puppy pee & tiny teefs!
We have the Eames Style chairs for our dining table & we have a lot of space to fill so I think the rocking chair version would sit in one of the corners nicely. I'd add a big cushion to finish it off & make it my little reading corner. I'm also on the look out for artwork I can place in the living/dining area. I'm obsessed with the Ice Lolly Watercolour print I found over on Etsy & I just know it will look perfect in the kitchen, I've also found a Totoro print I'm buying for my dressing room/blogging room/beauty room. I want the house to be full of fun things to look at & I love the idea of getting artwork that's a bit different! I've got some small cacti dotted around the place too (as does every other blogger & their dog!) & I want to add some more greenery, nothing too wild just a few simple house plants here & there. I always have fresh flowers around so a couple of plants will tie things together, I just need some pretty plant pots instead of those ugly plastic terracotta ones most plants come in!
You know when you've been eyeing up products forever, but you're trying to be good so resist buying them until one day an email pops into your inbox with a discount code? Well that happened to me. I kept finding myself on the Cult Beauty website, adding things to my basket then closing the webpage before actually checking out. Then a 15% off code came along & finally gave me the courage to hit the checkout button.
Every single time I would add the same 3 products so I gave into temptation & placed the order. First thing that went straight into the basket was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the shade Medium Brown (£15.00), I reckon this has been one of the most talked about beauty products in the blogosphere so I'm excited to finally have this little pot of brow goodness in my life!
A favourite from skincare guru Caroline Hirons, Pixi Glow Tonic (£18.00) is another product that is non-stop raved about. A toner that contains glycolic acid which promises to reveal new healthy skin cells whilst also hydrating, soothing & giving your complexion a natural, dewy radiance. It sounds like a miracle worker to me, I'm hoping it will reduce the scars I have from blemishes & keep other imperfections at bay.
Aesop Pasley Seed Facial Cleansing Masque (£27.00) really appealed to me after I read the description "one can do a catch-up cheat with skin care using this Parsley Seed cleansing mask" - in fact its what sold it to me. Admittedly I get a bit lazy with skincare, especially when I've been working a lot of overtime & all I wanna do is crawl into bed rather than stand at the sink scrubbing away my makeup. The mask is said to draw out impurities but doesn't leave your skin feeling tight & provides a heap of antioxidants to perk up a dull complexion. I'll be reporting my findings soon!
Have you shopped on Cult Beauty or tried any of these before?
7th Heaven, formerly known as Montagne Jeunesse (they renamed because no-one could say it!) have been a brand I've been familiar with for years, with the face masks being my most used product. In fact, I can't remember not having at least one of their masks to hand at all times, they're perfect for pamper evenings. I've used so many of the different masks, I don't think I could pick a favourite but I really like the peel off ones, I find it so satisfying & enjoyable to pull off when the time is up! 7th Heaven have every type of masque you can imagine, from mud to soufflé, peel off to sheet and sauna to scrub. There is definitely a mask to suit your needs, whether thats to detoxify or hydrate your skin or to simply relax & de-stress.
Onto the giveaway I've got 9 masks up for grabs to one of my lovely readers, you could host a big pamper night with a group of friends or just be completely indulgent & have lots of pamper nights - you'll have the perfect excuse to anyway!
Handsome Boux Pug - how cool is his harness!? Here's his Instagram link!
Flossie Pug, the sassiest diva Pug I know! Check out her Instagram.
Another shot of Frankie
Handsome Mr. Milo Pug, one of Tilly's first friends <3
Sophia Pug with Flossie & her brother Milo in the background. Milo & Sophia have their own Instagram account too!
"Dad, you're embarrassing me in front of my friends!!!"
Tired Totoro Pug
If you've read my blog for a while you'll know that Tilly Pug has a better social life than me, so it's no surprise that we attended another Pug Party for her to see all her little pals! Pugfest was held in Birmingham & it was by far the biggest Pug event we have been too, I actually felt overwhelmed! I reckon there was at least 1000 Pugs there, it was heaven & we managed to meet some of our Instagram friends plus see all the familiar faces, both Human & squishy Pug ones! Having a Pug has given us the opportunity to meet so many like-minded, crazy Pug people & honestly it's the best! We've made some friends for life & so has Tilly, it's the nicest thing ever.
The was a Superhero theme to the event so we had a custom Totoro harness made for Tilly, not your typical Superhero but Totoro is a hero in my eyes & we call Tilly Totoro all the time so it just made sense! We had her harness made by a lovely lady who runs Poochu, the harnesses she sells are beautiful & she will make a harness exactly how you want it. I noticed a burger print harness on her Instagram page the other day, amazing! We also had a Totoro onesie for Tilly to wear but it was way too hot for that unfortunately.
I didn't take anywhere near the amount of photos I was hoping to get, I was too busy soaking up the atmosphere & living in the moment - something I don't do enough, I'm always distracted by my phone, scrolling through social media etc. We love taking our Tilly Pug to these events, it's such a fun way to socialise her & it's amazing seeing all the Pugs in their element!
When we got the keys to our house I believed we would be able to walk into the house & transform it into the home we had been dreaming of within a matter of days. Oh how wrong was I!? We've been in the house for 5 weeks & still haven't even managed to order a sofa, yep our bed is were we spend most of time, sitting watching hours of Netflix, eating popcorn, chilling out.
See, before we moved I never added work, household chores, visiting family, looking after a pug or our budget into the equation, I just assumed things would get done & the place would be perfect pretty quickly. Don't get me wrong, we have got a fair few things done in the short space of time we've lived here, such as re-paint the main bedroom & gloss all the woodwork, strip the wallpaper off the chimney breasts in both the living & dining rooms and we've made a start on painting the bathroom too. It just takes a whole lot longer than I allowed myself to expect. Next week we are getting the damp issues resolved downstairs, it's gonna be messy & involve one wall to be re-plastered & another to have all it's paint sanded off... seriously what did I get myself into!? After thats complete though we can go ahead with getting the rooms done to our taste so it's all exciting stuff really!
I'm 100% set on white walls & a grey sofa to go with our original wooden floorboards & we have ordered white wood venetian blinds. I did want shutters, but our windows are HUGE & the quotes we got were just insane so I settled on venetian blinds instead. The house is Victorian, meaning it's full of character, super high ceilings & original features which I am obsessed with so I want to keep the decor simple & fresh to ensure that the character doesn't get disguised.
The Kitchen is the one room I'm 98% happy with, the units are white gloss with black worktops & white subway tiles on the walls. We just need to get a new radiator & it *could* do with a lick of paint at some stage in the future but for now it's a nice place to cook & thats the main thing! We've managed to make the most of how the previous owners left it by adding all the little accessories I collected over the past year & I'm really pleased with how it's come together.
Upstairs wise our main focus is on our bedroom, we are currently sleeping in the back bedroom until we have the blinds fitted. Luckily it didn't need any work doing apart from cosmetic things like painting & we are going to pull up the carpet because it's worn out & crinkles when you walk on it which irritates me. So we have created a bit of work for ourselves by planning to remove the carpet as the floorboards are going to need sanding down & varnishing at the very least, but it will be worth it! The other two bedrooms are in decent condition too, again they just need a fresh coat of paint but theres no rush to get that done just yet. One room is going to be Dom's man cave to hide away all his geek junk & computer stuff & then the other is going to be my haven... a room for all my beauty products to live, along with a space to blog & be creative.
We haven't even made a start on the courtyard, the list is literally endless with things I want to do but I am loving every minute of being in our very own place & can't wait to see it all come together over time! Do you like these kind of posts? Let me know if you do & I'll continue to keep you all updated!
Now Summer has finally made an appearance, (even if it was only for two days) it got me thinking about the products I reach for when the climate is a lot warmer than usual! Here are my Summer Beauty Essentials & I'll be sharing my Summer Makeup Picks real soon if you're interested...
I've banged on enough about the St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion recently but I'll quickly say I feel like this is a definite beauty essential for pale skinned gals like myself, it builds up to a glowing, natural looking tan in just a couple of days. I was afraid of fake tan (yes, really), the idea of turning myself Orange was a pretty scary thought so a gradual tanning lotion really appealed to me!
Bobby Pins, bobby pins & more bobby pins!! Don't think I really need to explain this, but just incase you're wondering why I consider them a Summer essential? Wispy, annoying strands of hair & a thick fringe don't go well together in high temperatures, all I wanna do is clip back those sections of my hair & be assured that they're not gonna budge. Continually having to flick hair away from my face is a sure way to cause me a meltdown when it's ridiculously hot, hair stuck to face is not a good look.
I don't know about you but thick, sticky body butters just don't appeal to me in warm weather which is why I've been coating myself in body oils to ensure I'm locking plenty of moisture into my skin. I either use Johnson's Baby Oil (cheap & cheerful!) or I've been loving The Body Shop Mango Beautifying Oil, it illuminates the skin beautifully and the exotic Mango scent is refreshingly sweet.
It goes without saying really, but suncream is an absolute necessity whilst Mr Sunshine is playing out. Nobody wants sun damaged skin, being burnt is possibly the worst thing in the world & I have been caught out far too many times. Carrying a mini sized bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection* has is not only a Summer Essential but it has also become my latest handbag essential, now I'm prepared at all times hopefully I won't be burning any time soon!
Body Scrubs are incorporated into my shower routine throughout every season but I find that I exfoliate on a more regular basis during Summer. When it comes to scrubs, I rarely use anything other than a Soap & Glory one. I've currently got Sugar Crush on the go as the Citrus scent is Summery but all of them work well at prepping my skin for shaving & ensuring they are ready to be on show to the world if I'm brave enough!
My most-loved perfume for Summer has got to be Marc Jacobs Honey. I have both the full sized version & the tiny handbag edition photographed above & I'm pretty sure I'll always have this fragrance in my collection. It basically smells like Summer to me, it's a light fruity scent with Honey being the base note, it's a warm, energizing perfume but not at all overpowering.
Summer = Sandals. And wearing sandals means your feet need to be in a nice condition. I admit that I neglect my tootsies for the most part, but as soon as the Sun arrives I whip out Soap & Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream & slather my feet in the stuff! I usually leave it to soak in overnight so that the skin has chance to soften whilst I sleep, meaning I can slip on a pair of sandals the next morning & not have to worry about my feet being covered in flaky, dry skin. Nice.
Burt's Bee's Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is actually something I use ALL of the time. In fact, I'm really obsessed with this product! I have a really gross habit which involves picking the skin around my nails when I'm nervous/anxious or even when I'm bored & honestly this has been a bit of a life saver. Dramatic, I know but the state of my nails really got me down & since I've been using this it's changed the appearance completely. I no longer suffer with hard, dry skin which in turn stops me from picking away (grim) & even helps me to apply nail polish neatly due to the lack of Cuticle build up. Also, this smells like Sherbet Lemons which is a m a z i n g!
I decanted some Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic into a spray bottle & I'm now convinced that it was one of the best decision I've made recently! I normally use this everyday after cleansing & love the refreshing, cooling effect it has on my skin so I thought, why not use this as a spray when the heat becomes unbearable as a quick fix.
Nuxe Sun Refreshing After-Sun Lotion* is such a luxurious feeling after-sun lotion. It is so soothing on burnt skin (yep, I did manage to 'catch' the sun on Tuesday & ended up with red raw shins, thighs & pink looking arms) it provides plenty of much-needed hydration which aids repair & prolongs your tan. Even my Sister has given her seal of approval!
Whilst we've all been melting thanks to the #UKHeatwave I have had a serious craving for icy, refreshing drinks so to curb that feeling I mixed up a Mojito Mocktail! It's super simple & takes a couple of minutes to prepare, so anyone can have a go! I had a glass chilling in the fridge for Dom when he got home from work & I'll be sure to serve this when we get round to having our housewarming too!
(Please excuse the state of the walls, we are in the middle of decorating!)
1/2 cup of Mint Leaves
Juice of half a Lemon
3 tbsps Sugar
First things first, prepare a sugar syrup. To do this simply pour 1/2 cup of water into a pan, followed by 3 tablespoons of Sugar and heat on a low flame. The Sugar will dissolve after a couple of minutes, once dissolved allow to simmer for about 30 seconds before leaving the syrup to cool to room temperature.
Next up, grab some serving glasses, I chose Mason Jars because, well why not! Add in 7-8 Mint Leaves, followed by 1 tablespoon of Sugar Syrup & around 1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice. I literally just squeezed lemon juice onto a spoon over my glass, meaning I was pretty generous with it but you can add as much or as little as you want really!
Then comes the fun part, get a muddler or you could use the end of a wooden rolling pin & crush the mint leaves. This helps to release the true flavours & helps give the drink that refreshing tang!
Add in a couple of ice cubes & then top up your glass with Lemonade, I used Sprite because I prefer the taste but whatever lemonade is fine! Or you can use soda water if you like.
Finally, pop in a straw, decorate with a slice of lemon & mint leaves if you want & enjoy your Virgin Mojito!
This recipe makes about 6 glasses, it's easy to switch up if you require more or less.
